Catherine Thomas - Choir Administrator

Catherine was born in Kent but spent the formative years of her life in the carefree atmosphere of Bahrain where her father worked for an Oil Company. Returning some years later before starting her secondary education she joined the church choir of St. John's Bexley where she sang for the next 12 years rising from probationer to Head Chorister, and achieving her RSCM Deanery Chorister Award in Rochester Diocese.

The family then moved to North London and it was here that Catherine sang with the Finchley Chamber Choir and St. John's Whetstone. However, she then left home and returned to the South East where she joined St. Mary's Choir Plaistow, Bromley - here Catherine took and passed her Senior Bishop's Award in Southwark Diocese and it was here that the friendships and contacts were formed which eventually came together to form Poscimur. Catherine studies voice with Linda Hutchinson.

In 1991 Poscimur began it's life by singing in Southwark Cathedral and from that time onwards Catherine has sung soprano in the choir and also acted as Choir Administrator; arranging the visits, creating the timetables, coordinating booklet production, booking accommodation, helping to select the repertoire, arranging the purchase of cassocks and music, looking out for potential new members and generally keeping everyone informed.

In her spare time Catherine can be found working in the Syndicate Loans Agency Department of ANZ Investment Bank - whose closest neighbour is Southwark Cathedral.

Catherine is the proud owner of 3 standard dachsunds: Daisy, Dixie and Dudley who regularly join in the Sunday Poscimur Choir Practices and who have, on occasions even been known to join in the soprano (Daisy and Dixie) and bass (Dudley) lines!
